Dr. Comfort Enyi Eleazu is an accomplished academic and educator, renowned for her contributions to special needs education, guidance, and counseling. Born on April 14, 1981, in Ediba, Rivers State, she has dedicated her career to advancing inclusive education and empowering individuals with disabilities.
Dr. Eleazu holds a PhD. in Educational Psychology, Guidance, and Counseling (Special Needs Education) from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, where she graduated with distinction in 2021. Her academic journey includes multiple distinctions across various levels of education, culminating in an impressive portfolio of qualifications that span educational psychology, human anatomy, and educational administration.
As a member of esteemed professional organizations such as the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), West and Central Africa Association of Special and Inclusive Education (WACAASIE), National Association of Exceptional Children (NAEC), and the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET), Dr. Eleazu remains committed to advancing the field of counseling and special needs education.
Her career spans over a decade, during which she has served as a guidance counselor, biology teacher, contract lecturer, and administrator. She has worked in institutions like the Community Senior Secondary School, Omuigwe Aluu, and DOM-VIC College of Professional Education Studies. Her roles have included counseling, mentoring, and supervising students, as well as organizing seminars, workshops, and rehabilitation programs for persons with disabilities.
Dr. Eleazu has an impressive record of academic publications, which focus on critical issues such as inclusive education, counseling practices, and the psychosocial challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Notable among these is her research on assistive hearing devices and social inclusion.
